PEN Canada strongly condemns the unsubstantiated and outrageous charges against Cuban artists Maykel “El Osorbo” Castillo Pérez and Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara. Prosecutors have requested a sentence of 10 and 7 years imprisonment, respectively.
More than 130 organisations and individual signatories call on the Cuban government to drop the charges and release Maykel Castillo Pérez and Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, and put an immediate end to the constant harassment against artists.
