2026 AGM + Summer Social & Book Talk with Kim Echlin (4)

Members, writers, journalists, and friends of PEN – join us on Thursday, June 11, for our Annual General Meeting, followed by a summer social for writers, featuring a conversation with Kim Echlin about her new book, Tell Others: Storytelling for a World in Turmoil.

This back-to-back event is in two parts: the AGM portion of this event is only open to members of PEN Canada, while the summer social that follows is open to all writers, friends and members of the public. Both are free to attend, and separate registration is required.

About the Annual General Meeting

PEN Canada’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. This year, the AGM will be hybrid – with a Zoom link available to any member across the country, and up to 20 in-person seats available in Toronto.

At this meeting, members will be the first to see our annual report, participate in the elections for new board members, and hear a reading from Bahamian-Canadian poet Georgio Russell, one of two winners of last year’s New Voices Award.

All PEN Canada members are encouraged to attend, and an RSVP is required. To RSVP, fill out the form below by Thursday June 4.

A full AGM package (Agenda, Minutes from last year’s AGM, 2025/2026 Annual Report, and Zoom link) will be sent out the week of June 11 to members who have RSVP’d.

AGM Voting + Keeping your membership current

Your membership must be current in order for you to have voting rights at the meeting; outstanding membership dues can be paid on our website. If you cannot attend but would like to vote by proxy, please reach out to Theresa Johnson to obtain the Instrument of Proxy and return it by Thursday, June 4.

To check your membership status, learn more about proxy voting, or for any other inquiries, please email Theresa Johnson (Director of Operations) at tjohnson@pencanada.ca.
