Human rights acts in nine provinces and territories prohibit discrimination based on political belief – either broadly or narrowly defined – while four do not. Should political belief and political association have the same protections as other prohibited grounds of discrimination such as race, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and marital status? Why or why not?
