On November 15th 2013, PEN Canada hosted a live painting in honour of the 32nd International Day of the imprisoned Writer. Artists Adrian Hayles, Peru Dyer Jalea, and Gilda Monreal created a mural to honour persecuted writers Dina Meza, Nurmuhemmett Yasin, and Eskinder Nega.
