Journalist and documentary filmmaker Fred Alvarado won the inaugural PEN Canada/PEN Honduras Inscribir Sin Miedo award for investigative and public interest journalism for his essay “Honduras: The Process of American Remilitarization and the Failure of the War on Drugs.” He spoke to CBC’s Anna Maria Tremonti about the forced removal of leftist President Manuel Zelaya on June 28th, 2009.
