PEN presidents join the Keep Toronto Reading Series

On Thursday, April 25, PEN Canada president, Charlie Foran will be joined by PEN International president, John Ralston Saul, on stage at the Bram and Bluma Appel Salon in the Toronto Reference Library for an intriguing discussion centered on the reference library’s One Book campaign, Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451.

Bradbury’s book reminds us of the vulnerability of our reading freedom. Join two of Canada’s leading public intellectuals as they discuss book burning in the digital age.

Tickets are free to this event but must be reserved in advance.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for a cash bar reception. The event begins at 7:00 p.m.

With events that are free of charge, it is the reference library’s policy to overbook. In the case of a full program, your free reservation may not guarantee admission. Unclaimed reservations will be released to standby customers ten minutes prior to the start of the program. We recommend that you arrive early.
