The Stamp Collector: A Story Inspired by Work with PEN

How the advocacy work of one PEN member became a children’s picture book

Jennifer Lanthier’s new book tells the story of two young boys, one that grows up to be writer, the other a prison guard.

Inspired by her work on behalf Honorary Members, Nurmuhemmet Yasin and Jiang Weiping, Lanthier’s story illustrates of the power of words and the influence of PEN Canada campaigns, all the while reminding us that sometimes life is stranger, crueler, even more beautiful than fiction.

In her generosity Jennifer has decided to give a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each book to PEN Canada.

Pre-order the book.
