Sir, I Intend to Burn Your Book

On May 16th, 2013, PEN Canada hosted our spring Ideas in Dialogue event, Sir, I Intend to Burn your Book: Race, Censorship, and Free Speech, at the ROM. Lawrence Hill, author of the Book of Negroes, joined Carol Duncan, professor at Wilfred Laurier University, to talk about racial sensitivity and the kinds of censorship that come as a result of it. The two shared an enriching conversation, which considered both their personal experiences and general opinions regarding the issues of race and censorship.

We are pleased to present a video of the event, please join us at the next one!
